The cottages nestle in a fold of the hills in the valley of the River Camel at Tredethy, some four miles north of Bodmin and close to Bodmin Moor. They are ideally placed to give easy access to both the north and south Cornish coasts.

The Eden Project (Near St Austell) - 10 miles

This is a major national and international ecological project including plants and eco systems from throughout the world under a series of enormous covered domes.

North Coast Path – Bude to Newquay – 60 miles.
There is a particularly fine and varied stretch of coast from The national Trust car park at Port Quin (8 miles) to Pentire Head on the Camel Estuary. 3 miles each way.

Bodmin Moor
Wild open spaces, granite tors. Highest tor 1,300 ft. Beware of weather changes

The Lost Gardens of Heligan - 20 miles.
A major ground restoration and popular tourist attraction with numerous trees, shrubs and interesting gardens.

Llanhydrock House, National Trust - 6 miles south

Large house and gardens open to the public. Restaurant, café and shop

Padstow

Fishing port, narrow streets and alleys, picturesque houses and shops. Lobster hatchery. Large car parks. Home of popular TV chef Rick Stein who has his famous fish restaurant, and now a bistro, café and seafood cookery school .

Beaches

The cottages are within easy reach of some of the finest beaches on the North Cornwall coast.

1. Trebarwith Strand, near Tintagel. 10 miles
Popular family beach. Car park nearby, café. Very little beach at high tide.

2. Polzeath/Hayle Bay. 9 miles
Very popular large beach. All facilities. Good surfing. Parking on beach limited. Large car park at Tristram Cliff overlooking the beach.

3. Daymer Bay on the Camel Estuary. 8 miles
Sheltered wide sands and dunes. Large cark but soon filled up in high season. Ideal for small children. Shop/café and general facilities.

4. Rock, Camel Estuary. 8 miles
Good centre for wind-surfing and sailing, and there is a foot passenger ferry running daily to Padstow.

5. Harbour Cove.
